wish i could have been at the pro-life march.
i don’t usually get very heated about most things, but abortions are unacceptable. um, hello, its proven that life begins at conception. you’re committing a murder. that doesn’t bother you? so there are situations where it wasn’t your choice to get pregnant. okay. have the baby and give it up for adoption. you don’t have to become a mother. but you don’t have to kill an innocent child either. i am and forever will be pro-love and will never understand those who are pro-choice.
Life actually doesn’t being at conception. That lump of cells can’t live outside of a mother’s womb AS SOON as it’s fertilized. Furthermore, it’s not like women carelessly get abortions. As if it’s just something to be written off. It’s a decision a woman makes herself about herself.
Having a baby means you’re a mother. It means nine months of carrying a child around, morning sickness, strange cravings, contractions and labor. So what you’re saying is that it’s better to have a child born into a world where it’s going to be put into the foster care system, into potentially harmful homes and low-income families and the mother is supposed to be okay with this because “she isn’t a mother” and doesn’t have to think about her child that’s somewhere out in the world?
What about people who have miscarriages? Or people whose bodies self-abort a child to save the mother? I’m not for slaying innocent children. How dare you compare me to a pro-genocide killer? I’m not Hitler, I’m not a Ugandan warlord, I’m not supporting recklessly killing babies. I’m saying that little girls like this one and women like this one are put into terrible situations and have their rights taken away because you of the moral high-ground believe that they should act in accordance with your beliefs.
You don’t know their lives. Hell, you don’t know my life. You have no right whatsoever to tell me how I should or shouldn’t act. If I get pregnant and choose to have an abortion, then that’s on me. That’s my emotional distress. That’s my physical and mental pain. Not yours.
So let me ask you this. If you were raped, or if you got pregnant accidentally, what would you do? Would you drop out of college? Would you have to break the news to your parents? And what would they say to you, what would the father do; could you handle raising a baby at 18 all on your own? Would you give the baby up for adoption and forget all about it because you’re “not a mother”?
Because when if you ever get put into this situation, I think you’ll find that the shock of reality changes your morality forever.
